  • Are there quizzes or exams?

Generally, C.E. courses do not contain a “final exam.” ClassStar courses contain brief quizzes of two or three quick questions on just-completed sections of the material.

Criteria for successful completion of these classes are attendance, and understanding of the concepts as determined by these brief quizzes. If you don’t answer the quizzes correctly, you can review the concepts and re-answer the questions.

  • I was taking the course and the video slows down, or I see a "buffering" message.

Although rare, sometimes your course video will slow down and appear to stop momentarily.

The streaming video can be impacted by Internet traffic, other users on your home or office DSL line, and a build-up of temporary Internet files on your hard drive.

Try these fixes … If Internet volume is heavy…perhaps pause the course and leave it for a half hour. If others in your office or home are sharing a DSL line perhaps they could log off for a short time while you attend the course.

Also clear your browser's cache files:

    Internet Explorer:

Click on: Tools \ Internet Options \ Browsing History –Delete button \ Temporary Internet Files – Delete button, say “Yes” to confirmation question.

    FireFox:

Click on: Tools \ Options \ Privacy tab \ Private Data \ Settings, click on Cache button so that a check mark appears in the box, click OK. Then click on Clear Now button in the Private Data section.

    Safari:

Click on: Edit > Empty Cache, and then click Empty.

  • Must I complete a course in one sitting, or can I log off and come back to it later?

You may pause and return later if you wish.

If you pause the course and return later, the course will begin again from the paused point.

If you close your course session entirely, and return another day, the course will restart from the nearest chapter completed at the time you logged off.
